February is Fashion Month and it kicked off last week in Copenhagen with this year’s Autumn/Winter collections. It might not be seen as one of the most well known for fashion (compared to Paris, Milan, New York, and London), but Copenhagen Fashion week is always my favorite! I adore Scandinavian style so I always love an opportunity to see it showcased. Plus, the street style is always so fun and creative.
The range of styles shown throughout the week spanned from collegiate 60s to oversized and bold looks of the 80s to the eclectic flair of the 2010s, plus everything in between. It looks like there were six decades of inspiration for A/W ‘24. The way all of these fashion eras are converging into inspo for today’s style is so interesting to me. I wonder if it’s because of the influence of social media and the rise of "micro-trends" that has led to fusing together so many decades versus having the traditional route of seeing influence from 1 or maybe 2, decades per fashion season.
Anyway, here are my favorite collections featured at Copenhagen A/W ‘24 Fashion Week:
Baum Und Pferdgarten
I love love love Baum Und Pferdgarten. It’s one of the few designers I sometimes shop from for myself. I love how they always tend to play with texture, and elevate classic pieces. And fun fact! The rose motifs featured above are a callback to a collection they released 20 years ago.
Stine Goya
Stine Goya is known for her color schemes and I am absolutely in love with this one. This time, she took a turn from the usual pastels and gave us a moodier mix of chocolatey brown, butter yellow and cardinal red. This is 100% my goal color palette this fall.
The Garment
The Garment might have my favorite collection from last week. I always love a 90s twist, metallics, incorporating sheer materials and well-structured outerwear, and this collection included all of those things. Also, how can I get ahold of the two pieces on the bottom left for my bridal attire later this year? Stunning!!
Skall Studio
Skall Studio stated that the mood for this collection was set by Joan Didion and other female writers in New York in the ’60s which is honestly exactly how I would love to dress like 90% of the time.
ROTATE
Okay, maybe ROTATE was my favorite collection from last week. Vampy and romantic, every single look is so unique yet cohesive within the collection. I love it all!
Ganni
Like Baum Und Pferdgarten, Ganni is another brand that I personally shop from. I may or may not already be eyeing that silver suit, now I just need to find a reason to wear it...Maybe the argyle sweater would be more practical.
Aeron
The silhouettes, the colors, and the tailoring - I love every bit of this Aeron collection. Plus, I always appreciate juxtaposition when it comes to style. I loved the combination of masculine and feminine elements, plus the mix of textures. So beautiful!
Saks Potts
The oversized tunic sweater. The fringe boots. That particular shade of purple-ish pink. That belt. I’ve never been so sure that the late 2000s/early 2010s are back. And that’s just from this look! Check out the entire Saks Potts collection for more “Oh, God - is the trend cycle moving faster than ever or has time just passed” moments.
