From My Closet: 8 Outfits to Say Goodbye to Winter
Vintage Finds, Lots of Vests, Plaid, and Neutral Tones
Welcome to the new monthly series, From My Closet, where I’ll share a few recent outfits I’ve worn here and there. In order to (hopefully) wrap up winter, I’m sharing a handful of outfits worn in January + February. The last two months have included a lot of my favorite vintage finds, vests, neutral tones, layers, and plaid.
I’m looking forward to documenting more outfits for spring and shedding winter layers now that the days are getting longer, sunnier, and warmer. But for now, here are 8 outfits to officially say goodbye to winter.
Pleated Mini Skirt + Knee High Boots:
Vintage Top, Urban Outfitters Pleated Skirt (Similar), Purse from Amazon, Dolce Vita Boots (Gifted), Tights from Target
I wore this outfit for a Valentine’s Date night; we went to Enswell for cocktails and to Giorgio on Pine for dinner. Two of my favorite Philly spots!
I bought this vintage top from a really cool vintage shop in Gordonsillve, VA called Folking while Derek and I were on a road trip to Shenandoah National Park. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re ever out that way!
Plaid + Vintage:
Madewell Blazer, Vintage Blouse, Vintage Dooney & Bourke Bag
I bought this blazer five years ago and it continues to be one of my most worn pieces from October to May every single year.
One Skirt, Two Ways:
On the Left (2024): Thrifted Dress tucked into Express Skirt, Tights from Target, Sam Edelman Loafers and & Other Stories bucket bag.
On the Right (2015): Primark Dress tucked into Express Skirt, LOFT blazer, Kate Spade Purse, Boots from a shop in Budapest
I’ve had this skirt for a decade and it’s still a staple in my wardrobe. I wore it recently to my friend Chrystina’s PowerPoint Party (read her blog post on how to throw one yourself here) where I presented the similarities between Philly and Paris (I swear, there are more than you think!). It felt like the perfect thing to wear considering I packed it for my first trip to Paris in 2015 (pictured above).
PS - I found this same skirt on Poshmark in a size 0, size 2, size 8, and size 10.
Matching Vest & Trouser Set:
Vest/Trouser Set from ASOS (Similar Option Here and Here), ASOS Tee, Madewell Belt, Coach Ergo Bag, Missoma Necklace
I love this matching vest and trouser set! It’s surprisingly versatile and easy to wear for any season.
Oversized Cardigan + Pleated Midi Skirt:
Cardigan, Skirt and Boots by Oak & Fort, Madewell Turtleneck, Coach Ergo Bag
Wore this for a cozy cafe date with Derek to A La Mousse for cake and matcha. Yum!
Vintage 70s Blouse w/ a Sweater Vest:
Vintage 70s Blouse, H&M Sweater Vest, Agolde Denim
I wore this for a Galentine’s Day party that I threw at my apartment last month! I’ve realized recently that I don’t really own anything pink so red had to do.
A Monochromatic Look:
J. Crew Sweater, ASOS Coat, Madewell Jeans, Dolce Vita Heels (Gifted), Vintage Handmade Purse
I bought this coat when I was studying abroad in London back in 2015 and it’s still one of my favorites for the transition from Winter to Spring! Also, I’ve realized recently that I love dressing in a baby blue monochromatic outfit.
Mixing Vintage & Madewell:
Madewell Turtleneck, Vintage LL Bean Vest, Vintage Gap Denim, Madewell Belt, Vintage Handmade Purse, Madewell Earrings
I’m looking forward to sharing more spring-y looks in next month’s From My Closet newsletter! Fingers crossed that the spring weather is here to stay!
